This document, published by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), highlights the innovative uses of Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) data by nine communities presented at the first Advanced Homeless Data Users Meeting. In Minnesota, HMIS data were used to analyze families’ return to shelter in Ramsey County after receiving services through the Family Homeless Prevention and Assistance Program (FHPAP).

National Alliance to End Homelessness Report (October 2006)
This report reviews the primary strategies in community plans to end homelessness. According to the Alliance, 220 communities are currently working on plans to end homeless, and 90 of these communities have completed their plans and are at various stages of implementation. Of the 90 completed plans reviewed by the Alliance, 91 percent include a HMIS as a major component of the plan.
