MN HMIS Governing Board votes to release request for proposals to software vendors

On Friday, July 14th, 2023, the MN HMIS Governing Board voted to release the final draft of our community-informed Request for Proposals (RFP) to HMIS software vendors. The goal of this RFP is to seek a modern, intuitive user experience that meets our communities’ needs today and that will keep pace as those needs evolve.

We asked you, our HMIS users and partners, to imagine the best possible HMIS that could connect those experiencing homelessness and housing instability to resources and enable agencies and communities to use the data to drive their decisions.

Many of you responded or joined us in conversation to directly inform its contents. This means what we are asking in the RFP represents what you need. Before the vote, ICA staff presented results of the public comment period to the Governing Board, including how comments were incorporated.

This is an exciting time for Minnesota’s HMIS.

Releasing this RFP is a milestone; yet there is more ahead as we prepare to review proposals. You can learn more about the software review on the Software RFP page of our website, including commonly asked questions.

Look for more information in the coming months on how to get involved and continue to make your voices heard. You can contact John Ward (john.ward@icalliances.org) with any questions.
