FY24 HMIS Data Standards Changes: Training Available Soon!

What are the HMIS Data Standards Changes?

Every two years, HUD and the State of Minnesota decide whether to revise the data elements they require to be completed in HMIS. Click here to read more about this year’s updates, which go into effect on October 1, 2023.

Who is affected by the changes?

The FY24 HMIS Data Element Changes impact all current HMIS users and participating organizations.

When will training be available?

Couse content is expected to be available on ICA’s Moodle training site on Tuesday, September 26. Visit the landing page for the FY24 HMIS Data Element Changes for more info: https://www.hmismn.org/fy-2024-hmis-data-standards-changes

What do current HMIS users need to do to prepare?

When the training goes live on Tuesday, September 26…

  1. Login to ICA’s Moodle training site.

  2. On the "My Courses" page in Moodle, select the course titled "2023 MN HMIS Recertification Training".

  3. Complete both lessons in the course:

    1. FY24 HMIS Data Standards Changes

    2. 2023 HMIS Data Security & Privacy Recert

  4. Take a quiz to demonstrate understanding of the course content.

And that's it!

ICA expects that all HMIS users will take time to complete this year's training, both to honor their agreement to uphold the highest data entry standards for their clients and for the sake of their agency's data quality. Unlike previous years, ICA will not be inactivating user accounts due to non-completion, but we will be monitoring users’ training progress in Moodle.
