Minnesota Housing LTH/HPH and HTF Reporting Deadlines

Because Minnesota Housing can extract data directly from HMIS, many agencies are not required to submit their own reports. This guidance applies to most projects with capital financing intended to serve Long Term Homeless (LTH)/High Priority Homeless (HPH) households. Housing Trust Fund (HTF) rental assistance administrators are still required to submit reports. Review the following information to see how reporting requirements impact you.

Mid-year Reporting Period

For the mid-federal fiscal year reporting period, reports are due by midnight Central time on Wednesday, May 1, 2024. This reporting period covers program data from April 1, 2023 through March 31, 2024.

Based on the federal fiscal year calendar, the next reports will be due on Wednesday, November 1, 2024, for the data reporting period of October 1, 2023, through September 30, 2024.

Reporting Information

Site-Based Multifamily Capital Projects Serving LTH/HPH Households

All site-based projects that received capital financing to serve LTH/HPH households are expected to go into HMIS and verify that data entry for the mid-federal fiscal year reporting period is complete. Most projects, however, are not required to submit reports. Only projects that opened and leased up after August 1, 2023, and select projects that may benefit from additional support to clarify expectations and requirements around HMIS data entry and data quality are expected to submit reports for this reporting period. Below are links to the project lists for those needing to submit reports and those that only need to verify data entry is up to date.

If you have questions about whether you need to submit reports, please contact mhfa.lth-hmis@state.mn.us.

Housing Trust Fund Rental Assistance Projects

Most HTF rental assistance administrators should be reporting in HMIS and must submit mid-year reports. For grantees that are new as of October 1, 2023, reports will only cover program data from October 1, 2023, through March 31, 2024. For all other grantees, reports should cover program data for the period of April 1, 2023 through March 31, 2024.

Rental administrators that are prohibited from reporting in HMIS should connect with Deran Cadotte at deran.cadotte@state.mn.us. Deran will provide these administrators with an aggregate reporting tool that meets data reporting requirements and protects against releasing any personally identifiable information.

Mid-federal fiscal year reports for HTF rental assistance projects are due by midnight Central Time on Wednesday, May 1, 2024. View instructions for submitting reports.
