Webinar: Introduction to Data Explorer

ICA's Reporting and Evaluation Team plans to release an updated version of data explorer on August 21 and is excited to announce the 'Introduction to Data Explorer' webinar scheduled for September 18, 2025, from 1:00pm to 2:30pm.

This webinar will provide an introduction to Data Explorer for users of Minnesota's HMIS. Data Explorer is a ClientTrack tool which allows users to create basic customized data pulls and some basic visualizations. While the tool may be basic, to successfully pull the right data requires users to have an understanding of relational databases and some basic training to understand how data in Minnesota's HMIS is connected. 

Topics we plan to cover include:

• Domains (data sets) available in Data Explorer

• Linking domains within Data Explorer and customizing the type of link between domains

• Selecting the desired output fields for your Data Explorer query

• Adding filters to a Data Explorer query

• Determining when Data Explorer is (or is not) a good option

• An opportunity to suggest additional domains for Data Explorer
